Rising Seniors Bowl

FCA joined the Rising Seniors Bowl over the winter holiday to provide mentorship, educational and spiritual development and, of course, football to select juniors from all over the state of Georgia.

For the past six years, Joe Burns and his team have selected 100 young men and 26 head coaches to participate in the Rising Seniors Bowl.

An additional 125 young men participated in the one-day football camp that Saturday. The five-day program included prayer breakfasts, career and educational programing, leadership training and talent show. It concluded with the Georgia Junior Bowl on December 30 which aired on ESPN3.

The FCA Urban Atlanta team provided the spiritual component complete with huddle leaders and a chaplain. Twenty-five young men committed their lives to Christ at this event. We are blessed to be part of what God is doing in this city.

FCA Baseball Student-Athlete Retreat

Our Director of Urban Baseball, Brent Slade, hosted 15  young men and 2 coaches at The Farm in Cordele, GA for the 2nd Annual FCA Urban Baseball Retreat in December. "WE HAD A BLAST!" The group competed in games such as Capture The Flag, Tire Tug, Rambo, and the retreat favorite…Mud Bowl (Touch Football). They ate well and talked about racism and sex and making good decisions…ALL  from a biblical perspective. They closed out the weekend by attending Ebenezer Baptist Church in Cordele, GA. as a group. Director Brent Slade presented Pastor Fred of Ebenezer Baptist with an FCA gift of gratitude for partnering with FCA Urban Baseball since 2010. SPECIAL THANKS TO COACHES TEVIN FREEMAN AND JACOB PRESSLEY FOR ATTENDING!

FCA Annual Baseball Coaches' Retreat

Our Director of Urban Baseball, Brent Slade, hosted eight men/coaches at The Farm in Cordele, GA this November. The group spent some quality time hunting, playing golf, and eating very well. God was right in the middle of all they said and did as they bonded with one another and the Lord in fellowship.
